Co-design (also called participatory design), is an inclusive design development process that explores solutions to a problem by proactively seeking members of the community most impacted by that problem. Co-design follows the principle of “building with, not for” communities by engaging community members in the ideation of a solution and design decision-making process. The goal of this workshop is to spark creativity and help participants re-imagine how to engage with their communities. This is a hands-on workshop that explains why co-design is an effective strategy and walks participants through examples of co-design activities.
